Experience this drive north past the Arctic Circle (20-30mins away). One of our guides will help you strap in your snowshoes and show you the skills to face heavy snow. From there you'll be travelling on foot through the virgin forest to the destination: the frozen lake. Our guide will teach you how to catch fish and drill a hole into the ice with our special tools and local techniques. While you're enjoying ice fishing, our guide will light a campfire and prepare a Lappish light lunch. Although grilling the fish caught from the lake is possible, many decide to catch and release.
For children too young to wear snowshoes, sleds (toboggans) will be provided.

Operated in Rovaniemi each year from November 16 to April 12 next year (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 adults paying a full price.
The duration of the activity includes the transfer and the time to change clothes. The pick-up service is included if the distance from the pick-up point to Rovaniemi city center is within 8km. Thermal overalls, winter boots, winter gloves and woolen socks will be provided.
The meeting time of our activities is always before the start of the safari, in the event that the pick-up service is needed. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.
Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements. (Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
